Isomalt S Grade
Product Introduction
Isomalt is a sugar substitute, a type of sugar alcohol, used primarily for its sugar-like physical properties. It has only a small impact on blood sugar levels and does not promote tooth decay, i.e. is tooth-friendly. Its energy value is 2 kcal/g, half that of sugars. It is an odorless, white, crystalline substance containing about 5% water of crystallization. It also has a minimal cooling effect, lower than many other sugar alcohols.

Scope of Applications
● Sweeteners:Isomalt contains roughly half the calories of sugar. Isomalt is widely used as a sweetener in "sugar free" candies, cough drops and other commercially-prepared foods.
● Dental caries: Isomalt is anti-cariogenic and does not promote dental caries, because oral bacteria cannot readily convert it into decay causing acids. Furthermore, Isomalt cannot be converted by oral bacteria into polyglucan, the substance from which dental plaque is synthesized.
● Uses as a Preservative: Isomalt has also been shown to prolong shelf life and is sometimes used in breakfast cereals, crackers, and bakery products like breads and spoilage; It may also help keep dry goods fresh and crisp for longer.
